What to Expect When Filing a Card Dispute

At Apple FCU, we are committed to resolving Card disputes promptly and transparently. Here’s what you can expect during the process:

File your dispute by phone call, in branch or in Online Banking by navigating to Account Services > Disputes, or within your transaction history. You will be able to track your dispute in Online Banking, as well as upload requested information.

After submitting your dispute, you’ll receive confirmation, typically within a few days, by email or mail if there is no email address on file.

Our team will review your account and the disputed transaction. If we need more information, you’ll receive a written request. Please respond within 10 days to avoid automatic closure of your dispute.

Most investigations are resolved in 45-90 days. In some cases, this period may be extended if more time is required.

To ease immediate financial strain, we may issue temporary credit for the disputed amount while we review your dispute.

Once the investigation concludes, you’ll receive a written determination. If the dispute is resolved in your favor, any temporary credit issued will become permanent.

If the dispute is not resolved in your favor, you will receive an email containing the documentation used during the investigation. Any temporary credit previously issued will be reversed, and you may continue working directly with the merchant to resolve the matter.
