About Us

We're safe, local and most importantly, owned by you.

It’s true, when your money is well managed your life runs more smoothly. That’s why we’ve developed products and services to make banking easy.

Since 1956, Apple has been a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative. Every one of Apple FCU’s members owns an equal share of the credit union, and it is because of this dynamic that all earnings are returned in the form of lower loan rates and higher dividend yields. Plus, member deposits are insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a federal government agency.

If you’re looking for A Better Grade of Banking, pick Apple. With more than 20 branches across Northern Virginia, FREE Online Banking and access to more than 53,000 ATMs nationwide, no matter where you go, we’re nearby. Let us help make your financial dreams a reality.

Apple's History

In 1956, a group of educators working within the Fairfax County Public School system came together to assist a colleague in purchasing a set of car tires. This seemingly simple act, though these 10 teachers could not have known it at the time, planted the seeds for a partnership that would span more than half a century and serve thousands of members in the pursuit of an improved life, either through education and/or the achievement of dreams.

Our Mission

Through a lifelong partnership with anyone touched by education, Apple FCU helps members achieve their dreams by offering competitive financial solutions, with dedicated personal service. We exist, not for profit, but for the benefit of our members.

Our Vision

To be the premier financial institution serving the educational community.

Our Concept

A Better Grade of Banking. A vast amount of difference exists between the terms bank and banking. As a not-for-profit credit union, Apple offers many financial services that fall under the term banking, i.e. deposits, loans, checking and more. But it’s Apple’s personalized service and financial solutions, and competitive rates and products, that allow members to truly experience the credit union difference. It’s banking, but better.

Our Core Values

  • Apple will be a financially stable organization, conservative with a desire for operating efficiency.
  • Apple will provide competitive rates to our membership.
  • Apple will be member oriented with friendly, flexible, personal service.
  • Apple will offer a wide variety of services in a broad array of delivery systems.
  • Apple will expect strong, visionary leadership from management and officials and will have a commitment to quality staff.
  • Apple will treat its members with respect, earn their trust and loyalty, and retain its integrity.

Whether through direct financial support or other in-kind contributions, Apple FCU actively supports the credit union philosophy of people helping people.

Partnerships

Apple FCU is proud to join forces with the following organizations in order to make a difference in our members' communities:

Northern Virginia Athletic Directors, Administrators & Coaches Association (NVADACA)

Established in 1977, the Northern Virginia Athletics Directors, Administrators and Coaches Association (NVADACA) has promoted and supported high school athletics in Northern Virginia through a scholarship program and other association activities. The cooperation and involvement of the area's business and professional community is equally vital to NVADACA's mission. As a proud supporter of NVADACA, Apple Federal Credit Union has been actively involved with the organization since 1991.

Rotary International - Fairfax Chapter

Rotary International offers a broad range of humanitarian, intercultural, and educational programs and activities designed to improve the human condition and advance the organization's ultimate goal of world understanding and peace. Structured programs and service opportunities help clubs and districts achieve their service goals in their own communities and in communities abroad, fostering fellowship and goodwill in the process.
