Driven by our mission and the best interests of our members, we leverage long-standing partnerships and use our resources to make a positive impact in our communities.
In 1956, Apple FCU was founded through a simple act of kindness. Seventy years later, that spirit continues to guide everything we do.
Throughout 2026, we’ll honor that legacy by giving back to our members and community through our Paying It Forward initiative. We’re returning the kindness and generosity Northern Virginia has shown us by helping lift others up. That means covering groceries or gas, surprising someone with a coffee gift card or giving you opportunities to win big..
This is our way of saying "thank you" for supporting us, believing in us and helping us grow for seven decades.
In celebration of our birthday, we wanted to help someone else celebrate their birthday, too. We hosted a $500 Birthday Giveaway Social Media Contest for a week in July—which included a $400 gift card to Top Golf, a $50 gift card , and the lucky winning family met us at our Herndon Branch to collect the prizes.
Given back to organizations and events that support the Northern Virginia community.
Hours volunteered by Apple employees to support our community.
Events attended by Apple FCU employees to impact the community.
Twenty-five scholarships awarded to deserving high school seniors.
We take great pride in actively contributing to the well-being and creating positive change in our community. By contributing to several key areas of impact, we strive to address pressing issues that affect our neighbors' lives.
In celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week, Apple staff personally delivered over 300 bagels to educators across three school districts. As an added surprise, nine school faculty members received $70 Amazon gift cards, randomly placed in select bagel boxes.
To help beat the heat, our team surprised families at the Ashburn Farm Community Pools with free ice cream. We partnered with The Inside Scoop, owned by Apple FCU member Daniel Azar, to hand out eight different flavors as we celebrated summer.
During our July Town Hall at Chantilly High School, we gifted self-care items to family liaisons and volunteers to thank them for their work in maintaining the school's food pantry. In addition, we collected non-perishable food items before the Town Hall to fully stock the food pantry for the year ahead, and surprised Principal Amy Goodloe during our meeting.
In honor of our 70th anniversary, our team spent the morning at the Fair Oaks Mall handing out gift cards for National Random Acts of Kindness Day. We gave families in the mall a chance to get a gift card to Bagel Joy, Starbucks or McDonald's out of our mystery grab bags.
Several members of our team spent their Saturday mornings celebrating Pi Day. We delivered a variety of pies to the law enforcement team at the Loudoun County Detention Center to thank them for their service and commitment to safety.
Celebrate Trails Day was Saturday, April 25, and our team spent the morning landscaping with community partner, Friends of the W&OD Trail. We pulled weeds, tended to flowers and put down fresh mulch at the start of the trail in Shirlington, as well as handed out water bottles to runners, bikers and walkers.
