Now through September 30, 2020, any time you use your Apple Debit Card, a portion of every purchase* will go to one of four local charities, totaling up to $100,000. The more you spend using your Apple Debit Card, the more we give back to our community. It’s a great way to help others while taking care of yourself!

To determine how we distribute the funds, we’ve set up a poll for you to decide! Based on your votes, our donation will be divided between these local organizations! Vote as often as you like, and get your friends and family to vote too!
The Capital Area Food Bank leads our region’s efforts to provide good, healthy food to people struggling with hunger and food insecurity. Each year, they source and distribute the food for over 30 million meals.
Friends of Homeless Animals is a non-profit 501(c)(3) no-kill shelter dedicated to saving abandoned and abused dogs and cats. They provide rescue, medical care, rehabilitation and adoption services in the Northern Virginia and Washington, DC metropolitan areas.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) provides education, support, and advocacy to improve the lives of those living with mental illness, as well as their families, friends, mental health professionals and all who share NAMI's vision and mission.
Second Story transforms the lives of children, helping them stay safe, make positive decisions, achieve educational success and overcome personal crises. They offer hope for brighter futures by providing counseling, shelter and neighborhood-based support.
Here’s where each charity stands as of June 29th:
*For each Apple FCU Debit Card purchase transaction (ATM transactions excluded) made by members from 12:00:00 a.m., June 8, 2020, through 11:59:59 p.m., September 30, 2020, $.01 will be donated to designated 501(c)(3) charities, the total charitable amount not to exceed $100,000. Each charity (Capital Area Food Bank, Friends of Homeless Animals, National Alliance on Mental Illness (NoVA chapter) and Second Story) will receive monies based on the overall percentage of votes, with 100% divided among the four charities, within 60 days of the close of the campaign. Consumers may vote more than once for the charity of their choice. Online voting will take place June 8-September 30, 2020; results of the voting are final. Capital Area Food Bank, Friends of Homeless Animals, Second Story and National Alliance on Mental Illness (NoVA chapter) are not affiliated with this campaign.
